What can we learn from The Hanged Man

Every morning in my yoga practice I start with head stand.  The reason is because I heard that this can reverse my wrinkles and remove the black circles around my eyes.  I am really not sure if that helps, but I am 100% willing to try anything that brings me hope!  I medidate while I am immersed in the pose.  It feels interesting when I am seeing the world upside down, from a completely different perspective.  Head stand reminds me how The Hanged Man sees the world.

Now is time to suspend and pause for a while.  Time may appear to be moving slowly as if you are in the middle of a major transition.  What sacrifice do you need to make in order to achieve your goal? This is a testing period and there is a lesson to be learned.  Others may not understand your perspective.  Your focus now is on the greater good: let go of the old and make way for the new.

This is a ‘no’ card for yes or no questions.

Chanting a Magickal Spell for Everyone

I learned this from my morning yoga practice.  Sometimes a teacher will ask us to chant this and at first I have no clue at all.  Then I checked it up online where my teacher was trained (Jivamukti Yoga) and voila!  Ever since it has become a regular before preparing myself for magick of any kind.  I also chant this now in the morning, in my prayer and before any tarot card reading to calm my mind.

Invocation: Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu

May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all.

From the Jivamukti Yoga school, I learned about the meaning of each word:

lokah: location, realm, all universes existing now
samastah: all beings sharing that same location
sukhino: centered in happiness and joy, free from suffering
bhav: the divine mood or state of unified existence
antu: may it be so, it must be so (antu used as an ending here transforms this mantra into a powerful pledge)

It reminds us that our relationships with our environment should be mutually beneficial if we want happiness and liberation from suffering.  Lasting happiness can happen when we bring happiness to others.

This is a magickal spell each one of us can chant every day.  Repeat 3 to 5 times.  Many blessings to you.
