Vatican City and The Hierophant

I was visiting the Vatican City few days ago. The hotel I stayed was 5 minutes walk away from the city so every morning and evening I would pass by. A solemn place (full of tourists like myself) with balancing architectural structure, heaviness in feeling as it comes with responsibility and duty for the residing saints to serve God.

Nevertheless a remarkable place and can make one feel so small in front of God, as if all world issues are dust or easy jobs to Him. Let’s leave Him our worries so we can enjoy life, the beautiful summer.

Some thoughts on the Hierophant. My birth number is 5. It’s quality is of constant change and unceasing desire for freedom. In Tarot the number 5 card in the major arcana is the Hierophant. He is the King of the Spiritual World on Earth. Full of indoctrination, what is right and what is wrong without any grey area. 5 is the number of freedom which looks like a complete contrast to the guidance of the Hierophant. Perhaps it is especially important to recognise the ideal has to come in positive thoughts and intentions while acknowledging everyone has freedom to make such choice. Always there is respect of freedom; always there is the love of God. Preaching in love.

A strong feeling that the city Rome is ruled by Saturn with lots of well preserved ruins and history.

My favourite site of the city is the Pantheon. A pagan temple built initially for Cleopatra over 2000 years ago, converted into Christianity by around 600AD. One can still sense the amazing and mystical energy when you get inside.

And of course there is Arch Angel Michael. The angel images will be featured in many of the forth-coming tarot-scope posts.

My Fat Journal

Truth is I am obsessed with my weight.  I don’t look very fat (at least that’s what I thought!) but constantly I am thinking about whether I will put on an extra pound by having those delicious chewy chococolate chip cookies, perhaps just another little piece?  I couldn’t stop myself from snacking expecially when I am under stress.  My work is stressful, so is everybody.  Okay, I can make up 100 excuses to justify that extra piece of cookie.  I have heard that stress will increase cortisol level, and when more cortisol releases our body’s fat receptors will open widely.  This will allow us to absorb 4 times more fat than normal.  That’s totally not helping!   Being stress and tired will make you fat.

Few weeks ago I felt the urgent need to conjure the fairies for help.  My lovely essential oils!  How adorable they are.  Here was what I did and I found the methods effective.  I have become more conscious of what I eat, I feel less obssessed with snacking all the time.  Would you like to have a go?  Of course, if you are not like me then just enjoy the poster images below.  Or you may share with your loved ones.

In the morning I use this blend on diffuser, which I called it the no nonsense determination blend to strengthen my willpower – to eat and live a healthy day.  I use Saturn oil (Veitver) for grounding, the Sun oils Sweet Orange and Sweet Basil to keep myself strong and bright.

Once a week (twice if I am good) I use 10 mil Sweet Almond oil to blend with the following essential oils for abdominal massage.  Dill is particularly good for digestion problem.  To me it has a nice Fillet O Fish smell that fulfills my craving.  Ginger is great for her burning sensation, I love my Ginger using CO2 extraction rather than steam distillation.  Cypress is used for firming.  Rose essential oil can isolate lipids in the blood that turn into enzymes that in turn make us fat.  Lavender is added for skincare really.  The direction of the massage stroke has to be clockwise.

Just to ensure I am very determined to eat well rather than eat junk, I have a little aroma pendent with me.  The blend makes me very awake so I use it only in the day.  It has to be taken off at night time.  I need a good 7 hour sleep as research said that below 7 hour sleep will kick up the cortisol again, which will activate four times as many fat receptors…oh dear.  I found this formula from a research article a few years ago that I now use for my pendant.  Thanks to the aromatherapist who invented this.

Thank you my fairies, and thank you my lovely essential oils.  I still do my snacking some times, but more sensible.  Every day is getting better and better.  I wish you a healthy and happy day.

My Aromatic Medicine Chest

At home I have over 100 bottles of essential oils. I like to collect them just like how I collect my tarot decks.  They can last for very long time if they are stored properly. Each time only a few drops will be used.  The quickest one that goes out of stock is true lavender.  I replace her probably once every three months.  The slowest are many.  I have a bottle of benzoin I hardly use because she is so thick to drop and not willing to leave the bottle at all!  Gorgeous vanilla scent though.

Some people ask me for the most useful esssential oils.  I recommend 5 of them, those are invaluable oils to keep in the home medicine chest, or to take with you when traveling.

Lavender – ruled by Mercury, she is a great help for balancing nervous system, especially for stress-related issues.  Use in a vapourizer or with 5 to 6 drops in a running bath. Just enjoy the scent and allow your mind to rest.  Also very useful when there is a cut wound.  Direct neat application onto the wound speeds up healing. A drop on the pillow promotes sleep.

Tea Tree – he is good for skin acne.  Also invaluable for its antiseptic, fungicidal, antiviral and immune-stimulant properties.  Ruled by Saturn he is so powerful I will dilute tea tree with carrier oil before application.

Rosemary – ruled by the Sun she has stimulant properties on our mental and nervous systems.  A protective essential oil that I use for cleansing in my spiritual rituals.  She is strengthening, restorative, purifying, reviving and refreshing.  I also vapourise it together with lemon essential oil to boost memory.

Roman Chamomile – ruled by the Moon she is the best children’s remedy. A mild relaxant and anti-inflammatory agent.  This oil smells lovely, very mild and encourages sleep and relaxation.  Excellent for treating insomnia and nervous tension.

Peppermint – I love everything peppermint!  Ruled by Mercury not only it is good for digestive complaints such as nausea or indigestion, it is also indispensable for problems in our respiratory system.  And if you have fever, try drink some peppermint tea to reduce the heat.

Oral prescription however is not advised.  It should only be practiced by suitably trained medical doctors, who, like qualified herbalists, have undergone many years of training.

Hope you will have an opportunity to try them out. These 5 oils are generally safe and good for home remedies.

The line of Saturn is comply called the fate line and it represent the pattern of living.

There could be a few starting points:

Starting from the life line – self-reliance in searching for a career. Moral support from family or friend is helpful but not necessary.

Beginning inside the life line – the subject either receives or needs parental assistance or guidance by way of financial help towards an education or career in business or a profession.

From Luna area, lower side of the palm – imagination and restlessness play a strong part in the formation of the future of the subject. With a good head line and a prominent Luna area nothing with hinder the way to a desired goal for success. The lower the line, the more creative ability.

Starting from the head line – a career or arrange can take place later in life and can have equal success and happiness. A short line like this often accompanies a long Saturn line right beside it, indicating a second career or major interest.

On Jupiter area under first finger – ambitions that must be satisfied in a profession or business, security and a good home.

Where is the termination of the line of Apollo?

Termination of the Apollo line is under the third finger (Apollo mount area). Ending at the heart line – marriage may end the career of a woman. For a man, a change in career.

List and discuss the lines of Mercury.

This is also known as the line of health.

The starting points of the line of Mercury are as follows:

From the wrist, above the wrist line – the normal starting point, signifying health and success. Independent by nature so tends to overdo work or pleasure resulting in physical depletion.

From the life line – ailments in the digestive system.

Ending at the head line or the heart line – general activity may lessen or stop, depending upon health or occupation.

Give a brief outline to the Cephalic Line.

The cephalic line is parallel to the Mercury line towards the percussion side of the palm. This line indicates a physical reserve that can act when the Mercury line shows a weakness. When exactly parallel it foretells a craving for sensual pleasures and greed for wealth.

Palmistry: let’s learn together (Part 2)

Give a brief outline of what a mount is.

The mounts are fleshy elevations on the palm.  Hold the palm outstretched at eye level to ascertain which mounts are high or low.  High mounts – the evaluation of the qualities become stronger.  Note the mounts that are most prominent, then combine their meanings.

How many areas is the palm of the hand divided into?

The palm is divided into nine areas.  They are the key to our natural abilities and emotional traits.  Each area is called a mount, which sounds as though there is a point or hump in each section.  This is not the case.  It has been traditionally term to designate the different qualifications of each area.

Name four of these areas and list where they are found.

Mount Jupiter – under the first finger.

Mount Saturn – under the second finger.

Mount Apollo – under the third finger.

Mount Mercury – under the fourth finger.

Give a full interpretation of the following mount areas:

  • Mount of Luna

The mount area of Luna represents imagination, intuition, creative ability, and motivation.  It is a large area so it must be examined carefully to determine the exact location of the apex or precise spot of development.  Luna has varied physical forms.  It can bulge in spots or all over.  It can be thin and almost flat.  There may be few lines or many.  It may have the colour of a lot of blood or a little.  All of these things have a meaning.  When developed towards Upper Mars – the practical dreamer is able to apply imaginative ideas to everyday needs.  If the entire percussion bulges – need for physical activity combined with some creative project.  Near the wrist – sensuality, sometimes just imaginative.  Towards Venus – romantic, emotional.  Towards the Plain of Mars – aggressiveness to further one’s ability.  All of these types are intensified if the mount shows a reddish colour.  A bluish colour – sadness, even melancholia enters the imagination, such as the gloomy poet or composer.  Pale colour – may possess any one of the qualifications for the specific type, but indifference would be evident unless pressure were exerted.

  • Monunt of Upper Mars

This area, located between Mercury and Luna on the percussion side of the palm, represents endurance, bravery, fortitude and resistance.  This is a passive form as opposed to the activity of Lower Mars, but it takes both for balance.  Higher or stronger towards Mercury – nothing can defeat this person in business or profession, very persistent.  Towards the centre of the palm, the Plain of Mars – guard against over aggressiveness.  Towards Luna – take advantage of imaginative inspirational qualities, such as an attorney who can sway a jury by his choice of words.  Towards the percussion – physical reserve.  Overdeveloped – cruelty.  Absent – morbid, always on the defensive.

  • Mount of Jupiter

The mount area of Jupiter normally represents ambition and social prestige.  If the development is closer to the side of the palm, family pride is the chief ambition; closer to the head line, leadership, a desire for authority.  Here, arrogance would have to be subdued.  Placed near Saturn, scholarly attributes.  If the area is very high or large, conceit.  Generally, idealism is the keynote for Jupiter.

  • Mount of Saturn

This mount is seldom highly developed.  Usually it partakes of either or both Jupiter and Apollo.  Saturn itself is the epitome of sobriety.  Love of solitude, cautiousness, and mental reserve are the characteristics.  Developed close to the heart line – the qualities magnify.  Towards Jupiter – very serious viewpoint about life.  Towards Apollo – genuine interest in the arts; sentiment becomes important.  Very active Saturnians, those with spatulate fingers, have the ability for sturdy occupations such as mining or agriculture.  Absent of the mount – indifference, periods of morbidness, often antisocial, a realist with little care for anyone.
