My Signature Scent

Last year when I travelled to India my friend’s wife bought me a bottle of infused attar that I loved so much and used it till the last drop.  Contained inside was so much love of course, and also the essential oil of Champaka (Michelia champaca).  Since then I was entranced by her scent.  My little secret – I always carry a bottle of Champaka EO inside my bag.  It is undiluted hence very powerful and strong.  Whenever I feel not myself, upset and the like, I will apply one drop neat which is enough for the wrists, temples, 3rd eye and heart chakra.  As an aromatherapist I do not advise neat application of any essential oils onto our skin, except a limited few and on special circumstances.  I use Champaka 1 drop neat for energy raising, and also as a stimulating perfume.

Another secret.  All my aromatherapy products have a hint of Champaka.  I put 1 drop of Champaka to 100 ml of my carrier oil as a product base.  When I use the carrier oil to make beauty products, ointments or for therapeutic massage, there is always a very subtle scent of Champaka.  This is my signature scent.  Unless you live in India, good Champaka oil is hard to find.  It is not inexpensive but a 5 ml bottle can last for a very long time use.  If you are living in Hong Kong you can find excellent grade Champaka here.

Champaka is of the same plant family as Magnolia, the botanical name is Magnoliaceae. The scent is intense floral, it is a middle-to-light yellow-reddish oil.  Good qualities one come from steam distillation of blooms.  The main growing areas are India and part of Southern Asia.  Champaka is aphrodisiac, anti-diabetic, anti-microbial, wound healing, calming and febrifuge.

The sweet floral fragrance has calming effect to the nerves, at the same time able to restore our energy and increase our confidence.  Ruled by the Sun and Venus, it is valuable remedy for depression, anxiety, stress and grief-related disorders.  If someone has sexual difficulties, particularly frigidity and impotence, massage it (after proper dilution of 2%) onto lower abdomen, sacral and base chakras.  Or put a few diluted drops and run a bath.  It is good for all skin types and particularly good for mature, dry and sensitive skin.  Champaka is regenerative in nature and can help heal wounds, scars and stretch marks.  I use it for meditation and otherwise as a parfum.  You can also blend Champaka in your face moisturiser.  I have been gifting them to friends lately and they all love it.  Here is a formula for a 100ml bottle.  You will be making a little extra and with that amount you can split them into 3 smaller jars if you wish.  Enjoy!

Moving to a New Office

Last month I moved to a new office. It was on the same floor but in a different area with slightly smaller size. I didn’t think I would love the move but after I decorated the space I was happy about it. The walls were built so thin that everyone could hear my laughers, and sarcasm while I was on the phone. I got some new neighbours as well and was looking forward to sending them my positive vibes. I just hope I wouldn’t scare them off with my occasional voodoos!

I picked an auspicious time to move into the office. The Moon was angular in the first house with lots of accidental dignities. She was in Gemini which was the same as my natal Moon. Her next aspect was to trine Venus. It was important that the next aspect of the Moon for her to see a benefic. Ruler of the chart was Mercury and he too was accidentally dignified in the angular seventh house. He was with Saturn by conjunction, likely to have lots of responsibilities in this position. But it was a working environment after all.

The tenth house which governed career and public reputation was ruled by Jupiter – the great benefic. A lot of expansion and business opportunities would be expected.

I also like a dignified Venus in this chart. Venus was in Libra in her own sign. She looked after relationship issues and was the Goddess of beauty. I felt I needed some flowers in my office to honour her.

Finally the axis was mutable, making the residence very mobile. I intended to not stay in this office for too long. I would rather be travelling or move on to some place else should great opportunities arise. My last office I had a fixed axis in my election chart. I stayed for 3 years before I moved. I was intrigued to find out how long I would stay in this one.

Electional astrology is a helpful tool in finding auspicious moment in our lives to start something important and exciting.

Crystal Talisman

My delivery arrived just in time!  I bought some crystals for the first time from ExquisiteCrystal.com, it was a US online store recommended by my crystal healing teacher for their quality and stock availablity.  Indeed they were good!  I bought them so that I could catch the auspicious timing to create crystal talisman pouches for my loved ones.  I made just about 10 pouches and would have loved to create more – this has to wait till the next auspicious celestial event.

On that day we were blessed with a conjoining of the two benefics, the Venusian goddess of love, beauty and desire, and the expansive Jupiter with his far-reaching wisdom and abundance. In 2015 this conjunction marked the legalisation of same-sex marriage in America. In ancient astrology, fortunate noble marriages that gave birth to good children were amongst the significations of the conjunction of these two planetary deities.  The angles of the chart were fixed to further enhance the strength of the talisman.

I used water-sun-incense method to cleanse the stones.  With my prayer I conjured the planetary powers into the crystals and asked them to serve with their highest good for the person who is going to carry them.  Inside each pouch were 8 high-vibration crystals with different healing properties:

Apatite – dissolves aloofness and negativity.

Aventurine – activates and clears the heart chakra.

Carnelian – stimulates analytical capabilities and precision.

Citrine (smoky) – acquires weath, a ‘merchant’s stone’.

Jasper – helps one to be grounded and stabilizes the aura.

Lapis Lazuli – allows conscious attunement to the intuitive and psychic aspects of one’s nature.

Sodalite – facilitates companionship, encourages self-esteem.

Tourmaline – provides protection from all dangers on the physical plane.

I am look forward to sharing these magickal pouches with my dear friends and family members.  A wish is sent with this blog post: may each of you experience the love and abundance of God, that each moment in life will bring you great joy.  Blessings to you all.
